International School of Brussels
French is taught every day from age five and there is an extensive English as a second language program. Facilities include networked computer labs with Internet access and multimedia machines, and libraries with automated catalog and CD-ROM network. The High School prepares students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma, American High School Diploma and Advanced Placement Examinations. Ninety-five percent of ISB graduates continue to higher education in colleges and universities across the world. Learning support teachers help students with learning difficulties and there is a small special education unit which can educate children up to the age of twelve. The approach to learning support is driven by an 'inclusive' philosophy. Students participate in a wide range of sporting activities from traditional competitive sports to climbing and mountain biking and the excellent facilities include two multi-purpose gyms, an indoor climbing wall and covered tennis courts. Drama and music play an important part in school life and the 350-seat theater and smaller studio theater are home to a whole range of performances and productions throughout the year. ISB runs its own bus service and the campus can also be reached by public transport. ECIS and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools
